Body Mindfullness

BALANCE: MANAGEMENT & MAINTAINANCE

On birth, we are handled the most sophisticated equipment, which which to navigate life. A finely tuned, balanced bit of kit, which has the capabilities to bring great rewards of achievement, happiness and a long, prosperous, rewarding life.
If we were lucky enough to be handed the keys to a classic Ferrari, the fun we could have driving the car would be dependent on the fuel we put in it. We’d need to be wary of where we drove the car, because if we drove this machine on gravel, pot-holed roads and exposed it to corrosive sea air or damp conditions, the beautiful machine would show signs of premature wear and tear. And if we never changed the oil and filters, the fun-time would soon be outweighed by the not-so-fun time (and costs), of repairing the car.

If we wish to continue enjoying life’s many varied experiences, then it stands to reason that the vessel we are given, will constantly need to be monitored and maintained. For optimum performance, our body should be serviced to the same optimum level as a finely tuned race car. Cars have clocks and dials to register performance. Similarly, we have indicators and in-built regulatory systems for ensuring maintenance and repairs are carried out - all working mostly in the background. We can tell when these automatic systems are performing well and recognise the warning signs when there's a problem. Usually we'll succumb to the effects of a cold or flu and it's these signs telling us to recharge the body's systems.

However, if we continue to ignore the signs, fail to make the necessary adjustments and deny ourselves the attention the body needs, where once was a finely tuned Ferrari, we find a knackered-out Austin Allegro – with very little chance of passing it’s next MOT.

Clearing The Filters
We are exposed to many different environmental pollutants. These environmental pollutants are mostly invisible to the human eye. There are toxins in the air, the water, our food and even in the the invisible airwaves The body has multiple ways of ridding itself of toxins
